High Availability Hosting offers VMware cluster dedicated
servers, business and developer web hosting, email and application hosting,
and server consolidation consultancy.

Servers
Our VMware server hosting cluster runs on industry standard HP ProLiant servers with
Intel processors. All servers in the cluster run VMware ESX Server 3.5.
Automatic health checks constantly monitor the status of all servers in the cluster.
In the event of a VMware server failure, all running servers are automatically
rebooted onto another node, with minimal downtime and automatic restart.
This means clients' servers are not affected by hardware failures or host crashes.
Firewalls
Firewalls secure all hosted servers from the outside world, only letting in specific
traffic. NAT allows public traffic to stay on the outside of the firewalls, with
permitted traffic hitting private networks inside.
Customers which have their own managed firewall or VLAN benefit
from a second firewall protecting their network from the DMZ.
Firewalls are non-hardware-specific meaning they can run on redundant hardware without
specific requirements.
Storage Area Network
All data is stored on a HP StorageWorks Storage Area Network (SAN), with fault-tolerant
RAID arrays and hot-swappable disks. All storage arrays are monitored for predictive
disk failures, and disks are swapped before there is any risk to the data.
Data Centre
Our infrastructure is hosted in a Sheffield City Centre based custom-built Datacentre.
Our Datacentre features the following provisions:
- Multiple network bearers with different points of entry
- Automatic network re-routing incase of external supplier failure
- Fault-tolerant power with long-life UPS protection
- Environmental monitoring
- 24/7 access control and a separate secure hosting suite within the Datacentre
- separately locked racks
- Off-site monitoring 24/7

Our engineers and management team hold VMware Certified Professional,
Microsoft MCP; MCSA; MCSE, and Cisco CCNA qualifications.
Our team has over 20 years commercial IT experience, including work on large
server deployments, web hosting farms, and virtualisation projects. We hold
CompTIA Project+ certification for project management.
