Maximum Availability
Our dedicated servers offer protection against hardware failure, giving maximum
availability to your server. In the unlikely event of physical hardware failure on
any of our cluster nodes, your server will be automatically restarted on another
node reducing downtime to minutes rather than hours.
Full Remote Control
You are fully in control of your server. Remote console access is available using
any supported web browser*, allowing you to:
- Remote control your servers' console
- Power on / off and hard reboot
- Pass-through local CD-ROM / floppy drives
(* Internet Explorer 6+ and Firefox 1.5+)
Additional remote control is provided through Remote Desktop (Windows), or SSH (Linux
/ Solaris).
SAN Storage
Storage for your servers' OS and it's data are located on our HP StorageWorks iSCSI
Storage Area Network (SAN). Storing data on a SAN means it's not only highly
available, but is easy for you to add additional storage as required.
Backup & Snapshot Options
- SAN storage for manual backups (using your own choice of backup software)
- Managed Standard Backup (Windows Servers only)
- Managed Enterprise Backup with Symantec NetBackup (Windows, Linux, Solaris)
In addition to backups, we offer a "snapshot" feature, where we can take point-in-time
snapshots of your server so you can revert back to an earlier restore point. Ideal for
installing applications or testing new features without the risk of corruption.

Network & Firewalls
Your server comes with 1 public IP address, you can upgrade to 32 IP addresses.
Physical networks are redundant with 100Mbit uplinks and multiple internet
connections. Firewalls provide security at the edge (internet), and isolate
your server internally. Additional options include extra IP addresses and
firewall changes.
We allocate your servers internal IP address on the network, if you wish to use your
own 192.168.x.x, 10.x.x.x or 172.16.x.x IP addresses for your server, you will need
our Custom Private Network option.
